Hope is Growing 2021 Photo Essay Program

Morris

The Town of Morris is pleased with the help provided by the Volunteers in our Communities in Bloom program.

In the maintenance of buildings there were many volunteers and donors who worked on restoring the 19 suites in the complex located at 208 Boyne Avenue E. in Morris. The Morris Manor is for assisted living for seniors and in 2020 there were only six suites in use; now in 2021 after the restoration, all of the 19 suites are occupied. This is such an asset to the community and to the seniors!

During the drought we are currently experiencing, the Town residents are conserving the water supply with restrictions such as watering our plants using the Towns rain barrel refill program which refills rain barrels with pond water. We continue our re-cycling as well as using the compost program.

Our Heritage Conservation is listed on the Walking Trail bulletin as well as in the pamphlets to designate past history. The Museum has also made a video showing the history & contents of this area.

In Floral Displays, with the help of Hill Billy Garden Centre, we have tried to include yellow flowers. The Garden Centre does plant all the baskets for us but all the planters & beds are planted by our volunteers.

This year has been a trying time with COVID, Drought, & strange weather conditions. We are grateful for Hope is Growing in our community. Together we can accomplish a lot.
